Accessibility
Loom Arcade is committed to making its website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at level AA, which is the basis of Israeli Standard 5568.
What we have done
- An accessibility menu (the blue button at the bottom left): larger or smaller text, high contrast, underlined links and a readable font. Your choices are remembered on your device.
- A "Skip to main content" link and clear keyboard focus outlines. Menus, buttons and game cards can be used with the keyboard.
- Text descriptions for the pictures on game cards.
- Games play with a keyboard on computers and with touch on phones and tablets.
- Sound can be switched off at any time, and the games do not need sound to be played.
- Animations are reduced automatically if your device asks for less motion.
- A layout that works on phones and tablets, with no flashing screens.
Known limits
- The games are drawn on a canvas, so screen readers cannot describe what is happening inside them.
- Many games are fast and need quick reactions. A few use colors or sounds as clues, such as Color Echo.
- The accessibility menu changes the menus and pages, not the game screens themselves.
